Balloon Doing Human Impression
Just after 1PM we were sent to the beach near 60th Place West for a report of “something orange” bobbing in the water 300-400 yards offshore. From the beach, it did in fact appear to be the head of a person, but turned out to be a purple balloon doing a really good human impression.
It drifted back close to the shore on its own where one of members appropriately dispatched the offender before a sea turtle or other wildlife could mistake it for a Portuguese man-o-war or jellyfish.
