Group Trying to Rescue Child on Float
We were dispatched, along with Oak Island Fire Department, to the beach near Keziah Street for a report of a child far out on a float. It was reported that 4 adults were trying to reach the child, were unable, and all appeared in distress. We responded with our surf-launch boat 4491 and supporting crew in truck 4482. A couple of our members were already on the beach in the area and reported the float and all the people involved were safely back on the beach. We cancelled the call about the same time we arrived at the beach access.
