Kayakers Out Too Far
We were dispatched to the area near the Ocean Crest Pier for a report of 2 kayakers out too far, well past the end of the pier. The ocean was rough, and there are strong rip currents present today. We responded with our surf-launch boat, truck 4482, our drone, and a large crew. Once on the beach, we started looking for the kayaks, and several people on the beach approached us saying they had seen them and were concerned. Soon we learned the kayaks had returned to the beach on their own and everyone was safe.
