Medical Transport
At 11:30 pm last night, Oak Island Water Rescue was dispatched to assist Oak Island Fire Department, Oak Island Police Department, and Brunswick County EMS with transporting a medical emergency patient off the beach.
Transporting medical patients from the beach to the awaiting ambulance is one of the missions Oak Island Water Rescue is tasked with and we possess two 4×4 trucks which equip us to complete those missions.
Last night we responded with both trucks and provided beach transport services. The coordination between the town and county public safety agencies was seamless, as it always is.
Due to patient privacy concerns, we will not be posting the CAD (Computer Aided Dispatch) information we typically do for our responses.
