Multiple People Stranded Near Battery Island
We responded to a call for a boat that had run aground on a sandbar near Battery Island. The boat could not be towed from the scene so the owner decided to remain with the boat until high tide so that it could be floated. The family however was worried about their children and called for assistance.
We responded with boat 4492, and 4490 as backup, to the United States Coast Guard Station Oak Island. We made 2 trips to the sandbar, bringing a total of 7 people back to the United States Coast Guard station.
