Report of Girl Too Far Out
This morning, Oak Island Water Rescue, Oak Island Fire Department, and Oak Island Police Department were dispatched to the beach in the vicinity of Norton Street on the East end of the island for a report from a father that his daughter was too far out on a raft. We responded by sending our surf launch boat and an additional 4×4 truck to the scene. A member of Oak Island Water Rescue that was attending church nearby responded first to the scene and found the girl safe on the beach after making her way back in on her own. All further responses were cancelled.
