We were requested this morning by Oak Island Fire Department to provide a medical transport off the beach for a young man involved in a surfing accident near 54th Place West. Truck 4482 was already on the west end of the island conducting hovercraft training, so the crew was able to arrive very quickly. They transported the patient to a Brunswick County EMS ambulance that was waiting nearby.
