We Have our First Turtle Nest!
The Oak Island Sea Turtle Protection Program reported their first nest of the season on Monday! Remember, if you find an injured, dead, or struggling sea turtle, or a momma turtle creating a nest, call the NC Sea Turtle Hotline at (252) 241-7367 (or 911) and they will dispatch the appropriate volunteer group. Please do not approach a turtle or try to help it yourself, leave this to experienced, trained, permitted, and qualified volunteers.
